Support Your Favourite Record Store, Apr 17!

By Craig Smith • Apr 1st, 2010 • Category: News

Record Store Day is quickly becoming known as Christmas Day for music fans. An enticement for those of you to get up and actually walk into a record store rather than ordering off Amazon or….shudder Itunes, is that these record stores are going to have primo geeko stuff that have been produced ONLY for Record Store Day. So you can either get down there and be a part of the celebration, or cry about it later on Ebay when you’ve just paid through the nose for that Crystal Castles single.

Last year was a superb day, hanging out at Criminal Records in Atlanta, GA, pulling stuff off the shelves like a madman. Record stores all around the UK, Europe and the United States have special events planned, including Australia (hola Red Eye Records in Sydney) so get on down and show your support and buy something! Webcuts this year will by loitering around Rough Trade records in London at the ass-crack of dawn keen on nabbing some She & Him and Beach House gear. Yeah, sometimes we have buy our own records too…

A select list of interesting treats available is listed below. Most of the sweet stuff is only available in select independent record stores in America, (the full list is found here) but it seems this time around there’s more for everybody. For people in the UK, direct your attention here for a list of goodies and participating stores. Everyone else you can check out your own country and stores here. Make sure to tell them Webcuts sent you!
