Cut Copy – Where I’m Going

By • Jul 27th, 2010 • Category: Downloads

In 2008 Melbourne’s Cut Copy were lauded left right and centre for their New Order inspired rock-disco opus In Ghost Colours. Two and half years on and the first fruits of their upcoming, yet to be titled third album (not due until early 2011) have been cast out onto the internets in the form of “Where I’m Going”. Where Cut Copy seem to be going is in a more indie-pop direction as the song bears hallmarks to the likes of The Chills with huge kick drums, harmony drenched verse and “oooh oooh oooh oooh/Yeah Yeah!” chorus with a psychedelic pop middle eight and Dan Whitford proclaiming “All you need is a dream and lover too”. Right on! The MP3 for “Where I’m Going” can be found at cutcopy.net.au but also, in a format that would have made Sarah records proud, it’s also available as a limited edition one-sided etched 7″ single (through Modular).
